Frederick is named on the St Ives War Memorial. Employed as a coach painter at Fuller & Sons, he was already a member of the Territorials in 1913. Frederick almost survived the Battle of the Somme. A stupid shot from the British trenches aborted an attempt by the Germans to surrender before being attacked. Frederick died in the ensuing battle.
