Originally from Kings Lynn, John moved to St Ives to live at 18 North Road, working as manager of a local stonemasons.

    My grandad answered an advert in King’s Lynn paper for stonemasons to repair the Parish Church steeple after a plane hit it. He married Carrie Rudd also from King’s Lynn and rented digs before finding a suitable family home in North Road.
