  1. 1842 election fraud complaint. Did anything come of it? Mr GG Day was accused, but is later seen as the good guy, being given 500 gold sovereign by the railway board, then fined for not sweeping the pavement, then giving mutton to the poor (after an appeal for roast beef and plum pudding).

    1. Geroge Day walked free and was feted as a hero in St Ives for his steering of the bill tthrough Parliament o give St Ives a railway.
